Ice Storm - Christmas 2013

Dec 23, freezing rain, followed by snow and ice, power outages sometime for a week, Christmas plans unhinged, and ice still heavy on the trees more than a week later.

The storm begins; the deer can still get through the snow.

The pine branches are still upright, with a new sheen

And then, they start to droop

You can see the freezing rain

Leaves get coated

Boughs, and whole tree trunks start to bend

The next day, the ice thickens

Things start to get ethereal

Cedar branches

The birch bends to the ground
