Finally, a visit to part of the walking/biking trail that meanders through Sussex. Most of these pictures are quite similar, but it was difficult to choose which ones to post.

There is some interesting habitat along the river, which was moving very fast, and very full after a lot of rain -- uncharacteristically high for the season. It would have been quite a rush in a kayak.

We saw interesting glades of ferns, huge trees of some poplar variety and some open grassy areas. The trail is very well maintained, easy walking, dry. An altogether relaxing way to spend the first sunny afternoon in what seems like weeks.
2.4 km one way according to Google MapsThis is an old dead treeHuge tree with most of its growth over the river, leaning steeply. I wonder how it stays standing.
